This last week was a whirlwind experience! I had just completed the previous week's order, which included wedding cakes, lots of cupcakes, and of course a last minute 800 cake lollipop order (not to mention that my mother was out of town in Hawaii that whole week), and as I sat on my couch at home trying to take a breather, I got a call from none other than the Oprah Show!!! To say I was shocked was an understatement, but of course when they asked me if I could get 500 sugar cookies out for the Ellen Show by Thursday, I said yes! My family knows that I will almost always say yes to anything and then I just try to figure out how to do it!
For all of you who don't know the whole Oprah/Ellen story, Ellen had been trying for quite some time to land on the cover of O Magazine and this past week her wish came true. O Magazine wanted to send her a special gift to congratulate her on the day the magazine came out and that is where I came in. I have to say a big THANK YOU to my whole staff, family & friends for helping me pump out 500 amazing cookies in 48 hours…it was quite a task (along with running a storefront and making other daily orders as well), but they did an amazing job with it! So here are some photos that I took to document the fun experience! Hope you enjoy them!

You may remember the bride and groom sugar cookies I made for a dear friend's wedding. I had an amazing time at their wedding and had the privilege of making their cake and cookies and even being a bridesmaid. I wouldn't necessarily recommend trying to do both, but in the end it was all worth it!
I got the silhouette cookie cutters custom made to fit their profile from The Victor Trading Company. This company did an amazing job with the cutters and the end result was more than I could have asked for. The wedding theme was “Silhouettes” and my friend Karrie (the bride), who is a graphic designer, carried the theme throughout the whole wedding seamlessly. She even had the lady from Disneyland who cuts silhouettes come and cut each guest's silhouette! Their wedding photographer, Amy Squires, from WeddingChicks was absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend her to any bride-to-be looking for a fantastic photographer. I was also lucky enough to have a couple shots she took of my desserts and of the gorgeous bride and groom. I just can't help sharing my joy with you all, so I hope you enjoy these photos!

This was such a fun project to do! One of my best friends got married last May, and I baked her wedding cake, cookies, and was a bridesmaid.
Let’s just say it was a whirl-wind of an experience, but I was so excited! She is such a talented graphic designer and of course did all of her announcements and invitations, which had the silhouette of her and her fiance on them.
