They say less is more. Let's hope not. I find it somewhat ironic that I can't seem to choose photos for a new website yet I can't seem to narrow down photos for blog posts. So here you go. A major, major blog post. Probably the mother of all blog posts so far. Blame it on Christine and Reggie. I'm guessing more on Christine though. She planned the most beautiful wedding. And did so much of it herself. When I arrived on the wedding day she was on the floor putting together the bouquets! And did you see her dress? How do I get brides with such style? I love it! And her bridesmaids dresses were fabulous. That steely grey. I loved it too. Enjoy! Happy Friday!
As an interior designer Lindsay has such great style, I had been anxiously waiting to see what the wedding would be like. Needless to say, it was elegant and classic. Lindsay and Hank's wedding was at Casa Del Mar in Cabo San Lucas. It was a gorgeous day and this group was so fun (wait 'til you get to the bottom of this post!). This wedding was totally about friends (with a wedding party of about 23!), family and celebrating. Just what I think a wedding should be about. Lindsay looked amazing in her vintage gown and Hank was dashing as well. So without further delay, here is a great big preview of their wedding day. Congrats again guys! Thanks for having me!
Thank you to Katie Thompson of Weddings in Paradise for referring Lindsay and Hank to me and for doing such a fabulous job! And an additional great big thanks to my good friend and awesome photographer Riccis Valladares for shooting with me! I think we have a few more weddings left this year. Can't wait! I wonder… who's going to be buying the sushi???
BTW, a few of the bridesmaids were wearing the most gorgeous jewelry made by Judi McCormick. If you're looking for custom jewelry for your wedding party you should check her out. I'm always excited when I find good things (wow, I sound like Martha Stewart!).

I am so excited to be joining the Weddingbee family! I honestly never thought when I applied I would be chosen as one of the PRO bloggers, but I am thrilled to be here and to be sharing my thoughts about photography and weddings with everyone. Thanks! I look forward to sharing some of the amazing weddings I am fortunate enough to photograph, including our own Miss Hot Cocoa.
So…what should I tell everyone about me? I am a photographer based out of southern California specializing in documentary wedding photography. I live in Coronado with my wonderful two boys, my sweet husband, a short fat yellow lab named Mrs. Jones and two too loud birds that I'm always looking for an excuse to get rid of (Anyone need a bird or two!?! They came with the husband but I'm going to keep him).
My journey to becoming a wedding photographer was not the typical path. I have almost no formal education in photography at all. In fact, just a little over 3 years ago I was a therapist working with emotionally disabled children and their families. Prior to that I worked in community mental health, foster care and adoption and domestic violence. I think my therapy background was the perfect prelude to becoming a wedding photographer. All that crisis management comes in handy on wedding days!
Exactly how did this all happen you might wonder? In the summer of 2004 my kids went to visit their dad out of state, and since I worked in a school I had a nice long summer break too. I decided to fill that break by taking a photography class, Photography 101 at San Diego City College. While studying my photography notes for a test at a chemical dependency training for my therapy license, I came across a psychologist with her great big wedding planning notebook sitting smack dab beside me. Was it fate? One thing led to another and I ended up shooting her wedding. I loved it!
