Remember this save the date? Well, the invitation just went out, wine stains and all.
This is a mixed media piece, the wine stain is digitally printed by me and then letterpress printed by Spark. I love the simplicity of the border but it is spiced up with the wine stain and some more silly wording on the reception card and the rsvp….

I am really excited about how these invitations came out. They were a real collaborative effort between myself, the bride, groom, and even Rich! The bride and groom came to me with a very clear idea of what they wanted. They gave me a brochure for New Bedford, Massachusetts {where the wedding is going to be} which included a vintage street map of the town. They wanted a vintage and nautical feel to their invitations to set the tone of the day. I love the use of the banner and scroll in this design. The registration was super tight between the deep red banner and deep orange map on the top of the invitation, but it came out spectacularly {with much credit to my PG-11}.

This by far, is my most popular invitation suite. If not this one, then a variation of it. This one in particular has a two color letterpress invite, tear off RSVP post card, a tea ceremony invite insert, thank you cards and digital printed directions card. A little twine, a little wax and it's done. I love the ecru paper so rich and creamy. ![]()

We're thrilled to unveil the latest in our “Visit…” destination wedding invitation and save the date series, by Lab Partners…Chicago!

Here is a fun invitation for a wedding in Maine. Based on this inspiration board I put together. ![]()

It is a 3 color letterpress invite and reception card, with a 2 color RSVP postcard, (check out the food option saying…love it… so funny
) and single color envelope.
I am really into this color combo on this invitation we did recently. The invites feature a kelly green and navy color scheme. The invitation collection is the Blake collection from our Luxe album. The bride chose to switch the size of the invitation to an A7. I love the preppy chic vibe this has as well as their vintage monogram….

The flowers on this invitation really pop with another favorite color combination - pink, black, & white. The bride is having gerber daisies and bright pink roses for her flowers. Instead of using both flowers, we chose to use the color of the roses and the image of a daisy. Paired with a clean serif font in all caps and the swoops of Feel, the invitations are modern and with a touch of fun! ![]()

When you're surrounded by incredible letterpress creations every day, choosing your own letterpress wedding invitations becomes difficult -really, really difficult. There were moments during that time when I joked about wanting to send each of our guests a different invitation, just so I could see all of my different ideas in print. After much debate, with the help of our amazing client coordinator, Tiffany, and our equally amazing graphic designer, Beth Ann, I was able to settle on our Keswick design in Mediterranean and pale gray inks. The entire process was incredibly exciting, but nothing topped the day I finally got to hold them in my hands. They're absolutely stunning and you can bet we'll have a set framed to hang in our house after the wedding. ![]()
I love vintage travel posters. The graphic imagery and vibrant colors. The enticing and exotic visual lures encouraging you to travel to foreign lands to climb a mountain, ride an elephant, or have a picnic in the countryside. Travel posters were of great importance in the early to mid 20th century, but have become a lost art {I suppose we have cameras to thank}.
Erin, the bride, spent some time abroad in Avignon, France and wanted to incorporate the nostalgia of the travel poster above into her wedding invitations as well as the location of her wedding ceremony - under a large tree. I pushed the boundaries with the gocco on this invitation creating large amounts of solid areas with the border and tree on the invitations, but the results were fantastic! There are a few spots here and there, but over all the coverage is solid. The suite also included a corresponding rsvp with an arch of tree limbs and a reception card reminiscent of grassy fields perfect for picnicking. Très jolie, non?
