About wileyvalentine

While moving, I came across some oldies but goodies that I will be sharing with you from time to time. This happens to be one of my favorite invitations we have done. This invitation was for YPO (Young Presidents Organization), for their annual holiday party. The theme was rock n’ roll, which we really had fun with. The invitation arrived in a red box, with individual mailing wrap labels addressed to each guest. The invite had a cover card which was engraved metal, with black rubbery invite + map cards. The black paper was offset printed with metallic inks. Check it out…

About Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

The wedding is going to be a formal and elegant affair with a reception in a Victorian era casino. Inspired by the casino, the bride knew exactly what she wanted - peonies with a vintage flourish. Pink and green are the wedding colors and complement the imagery so well. I must say I love the reception card. If I were a recipient, I would hang this up…right next to the invitation of course!

With that said, when Smock had the opportunity to print the letterpress invitations, escort cards and menus for the recent Modern Bride Trendsetters Awards Dinner, it was a sincere honor and so much fun! Printing beautiful things is what makes us excited about what we do everyday, but being able to print the invitations for such a fabulous event, honoring amazing wedding professionals we truly admire, was especially exciting.

I love this stationery suite. The bride sent me all the elements she wanted including the amazing art deco monogram designed by one of her bridesmaids. I took all of the elements to create the invitation, rsvp, direction card, and bellyband. The pink, orange, and green ink on a warm cream stock are so perfect for a Miami wedding.

About Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

Hi! I am loving these recent invitations I designed and printed. The bride was so fun to work with as we chatted about ideas for her wedding - super casual, wide-open fields, wildflowers in various green mason jars, candle light - and shared our mutual love for Vermont. She is lucky enough to live there all the time whereas I escape to there when I can. We also discovered our lives nearly crossed paths about a year ago when my fiance Rich and I went to the cafe her fiance owns. Crazy! So…a gorgeous location with some pretty paper to go along.

Shimmer Shimmer

June 24th, 2009 @ 5:11 pm by Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

shimmer invitation

Oh! I really love these. It was so fun to get fancy with the shimmery paper, shimmery pink and chocolate inks, a swirly font, and a really lovely lace image. The bride simply told me her colors and said she wanted the invitation to be formal and sent in a box. She sent me a few inspiration images and I was off. Sometimes brides know exactly what they want and tell me exactly what they would like to see. Others give me a few words to go by, but either way it always leads to a design that makes the bride happy -which makes me happy.

My tandem bicycle stationery is a popular item both in my shop and at shows. Every so often I receive an inquiry about using the image on a wedding invitation. A few made it to the draft stage only to be overruled by a flower. But the lovely couple I worked with for these invitations wanted nothing less than the tandem bicycle on both the invitation and rsvp. Yay!

I added a bit of retro flair with the swoops and swirls on the top of the invitation and on the back of the rsvp postcard. It reminds me of party streamers -really fancy ones. The couple lives in Ireland and is getting married there. Oh! Can you picture it now - riding through the green countryside with your love on your very own shiny blue tandem bicycle? ::sigh::

bridal shower invite2

Several Saturdays ago, we threw my sister a surprise bridal shower. It has been months in the making with my mom and I busy behind the scenes, including multiple secret trips to Portland, Maine {where I am from, where my parents and sister live, and where the shower was}.

My sister’s July wedding colors are black, white, pink, and green. The wedding does not have a theme, but elements Jess would like to harmoniously combine including hydrangeas, lighthouses, and…peacock feathers -all with a vintage twist. The peacock feathers will come into play for the wedding invitation and reception decor, but for now we focused on hydrangeas for the invitations and lighthouses for the centerpieces for the bridal shower. The invitations were letterpress in a fabulously bright pink on fluorescent white Lettra paper with coordinating envelopes. I knew her fiance would not want pink envelopes for the wedding invitation so now was my chance to get girlie.

After two months of keeping these a secret from Jess, I was finally able to show them to her and she loved them {and understands why I did not want to use hydrangeas on her wedding invitation}!

Courtney @ Flush Designs's Picture
Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

This lovely invite was designed for a wedding all based around “The Firebird” ballet. Old, colorful, fancy, and whimsical, this simple tri-fold invite is sealed with a feather and wax. I can’t wait to see this wedding! The ever lovely Kristin of Treasured Petal is doing the flowers. Apparently, she will be using my invite as inspiration. I can’t wait. The wedding is in July, and I still have the menus, table numbers, seating chart and programs to prepare! The wedding is being coordinated by the none other then Kelly from Demaray Events. She is the nicest girl around! This wedding is in good hands!
