Kim @ Inspired Goodness's Picture
Kimberly Canale, Brooklyn, NY Vendor: Event Designer Website: Inspired Goodness About Me: From the moment the engagement ring was slipped onto my finger, I've been in love with all-things-wedding. I still get teary eyed reading proposal stories in magazines and love sneaking a peek at a bride and groom glancing at one another for the first time, as the ceremony is about to begin. With each of my clients, I get to know their personality, family background and hear the story of how they met and fell in love. Each piece becomes another element from which I use to build the overall vision for their wedding day. As the Creative Director at Inspired Goodness, my job is to create the various details that makes each of our weddings come to life. My work incorporates classic elements; engraving, hand calligraphy and vintage typography. Using a mix of found objects and flea market pieces lends a rich history to my work and challenges me to find creative ways to use mass-produced elements, each with a chic and timeless result. With every new client, I get to explore avenues I've yet to pass and love knowing that the next adventure is just around the corner!
About Kim @ Inspired Goodness

After 12 days of not posting, I feel like I really owe you some visual goodies. Hopefully this post does not disappoint!

A few weeks ago, Mrs. Bee asked me to help her decorate and plan a few aspects for an upcoming party she hosted in her West Village apartment. The meet-up was full of past and present WB bloggers, vendors and even a reader or two. Setup was a big group effort - lots of girls came early to help lend a hand.

Moody Birds

September 16th, 2009 @ 2:26 pm by Sabrina & Eunice @ Hello! Lucky

Kristian Vedel Bird

On a recent trip to Copenhagen, these wooden birds (aptly named “Bird”) designed by architect and furniture designer Kristian Vedel quickly became an obsession even though we’ve seen them before. It is pretty remarkable for any one thing to consistently stand out among all the wonderfully inspiring Danish furniture, crafts, architecture… not to mention the remarkably attractive inhabitants of this lovely city. In adorable shop after adorable shop, their removable heads beckoned us until, at last, we succumbed to the temptation and picked up a few.

Cynthia @ Bella Figura's Picture
Cynthia Converse, Syracuse, NY Vendor: Invitations Website: Bella Figura About Me: Bella Figura is a wind-powered, eco-friendly letterpress shop committed to the fine artisanship of letterpress printing and the environment. Along with our sister company, Smock, we print our wedding invitations and stationery on only the finest luxury cotton and bamboo papers to ensure the most beautiful of prints in sight and to the touch, while working tirelessly to do our little piece for the good of the earth. We are hopelessly in love with our abundant collection of cast iron presses, farmer's markets, fall in Upstate NY, creating beautiful heirlooms for our brides, businesses that do good for the world, calligraphy, spending time in nature, contributing to the greater letterpress community, our rambling studios in a converted warehouse turned artist's haven, and our two year old in residence. Turning invitations into art on paper while dedicating ourselves to the environment is not what we do, it's who we are.
About Cynthia @ Bella Figura

I just got back this morning from a trip to NYC where Smock hosted a fabulous event on Monday with our friends from Delphine, russell+hazel, Linnea’s Lights and Green Paper Company. We had a wonderful time meeting up with some of favorite shop owners, bloggers and editors in an incredible loft on Broadway, Hatch Creative Studio’s Nest Loft, and in true Monday Morning Mimosas fashion, enjoyed good cheer and a bit of bubbly with friends old and new. As I was flipping through the many many photos I took, I knew I had to share some of the event highlights. All of the exquisite details were dreamed up by the talented Erika of Delphine (no, she’s not an event planner, but she certainly has a fabulous eye) and could easily translate to wedding planning, a fabulous rehearsal dinner or even a festive bridal shower.

Tablescape Photoshoot

August 19th, 2009 @ 3:42 pm by Melody @ Sweet and Saucy Shop

Last week I had the pleasure of being featured on Green Wedding Shoes and Snippet & Ink!!! A couple months ago I was asked by the fabulous Carissa, of JL Designs to do a photoshoot! I was so excited when she said that Jasmine Star would be shooting the photos and I was so happy with how everything turned out!

The first look was an eco-chic tablescape. Carissa had such great ideas for this table and the end product turned out amazing! For the cakes I chose to go with three smaller size cakes instead of one large cake. I love this look and hope to do this for more upcoming weddings! I used fresh flowers for these cakes and combined different size cake tiers to get a modern look.

thetreasuredpetal's Picture
Kristin Brancaleone, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA Vendor: Floral Designer Website: The Treasured Petal About Me: The Treasured Petal is a reflection of my love for scrumptious flowers, yummy textures, colors, ribbons, and all the other girly splurges that being a florist allows me to enjoy on a daily basis. Although I don't discriminate when it comes to flowers, my two favorites would have to be cattleya orchids and gloriosa lilies, which I carried in a ginormous bouquet on my wedding day. When I'm not crafting wedding florals and consulting with brides, I am usually at the dog park with my dogs Pesto and Basil, cooking healthy vegan dinners, watching Seinfeld with my husband Joe, at Bible study, or scouring craigslist for antique furniture to fill up my new house. I am also kind of a home-body and really love sipping tea in my pajamas while working my way down my google reader blog list!

What’s in My Cooler?

August 10th, 2009 @ 1:39 pm by Kristin @ The Treasured Petal

My friend let me chop down a ton of beautiful green apple branches from her overloaded tree. They are so shiny and bulbous, and look so sweet in this weekend’s centerpieces. I can’t reveal too much, but here’s just a glimpse at what my designers have been up to the last few days.

It involves the aforementioned apples…

Walking along Broadway in NYC Thursday afternoon, I was immediately drawn to a window display.  At first, I thought “gorgeous glass sculpture”, but then looked closer.  I was actually staring at water bottles filled with colored water - genius!

When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.

Last summer, Rich and I attended the wedding of two of his close friends from law school. Attorneys by day and musicians by night, the couple used record album covers as their table markers. “We must do this at our wedding!” Rich declared. Mind you we were not even engaged at this point, but I filed it away.

Once we were engaged, I started collecting milk glass vases for our centerpieces and thinking of flowers…completely forgetting about the albums. However, the musician remembered. Album covers are perfect. They display our love of music and they take up a decent amount of space on the tables, therefore I do not need giant vases full of flowers. Now I am focusing on smaller milk glass vases and bud vases to put on either side of the albums. The best part of all {in our opinions} is adding at least one song from each album to our playlist. When the song plays, that table needs to get up and get down, get down! MSWeddings had this idea in the Summer issue as well. Fun!

Vintage Ephemera

July 23rd, 2009 @ 1:16 pm by Wiley Valentine

I can’t tell you how excited we all were when we received our new mailbox for the office the other day! We got it from Bellalulu’s shop on etsy. Check out the adorable crown detail! Love it!

This got me thinking what adorable details vintage finds would make for a wedding. Picture a vintage mailbox for guests to put their wedding wishes in…these amazing potato sacks hung on a clothesline for guests to take photos in front of (such a cool back drop!); vintage games as centerpieces for the kids tables; vintage stamps adorning escort cards; a collection of vintage matches in a bowl (just looks so cool!); or vintage postcards (via duet weddings) as escort cards or guest book entries.
