About Sabrina & Eunice @ Hello! Lucky

We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Annena & Co and Lisa Lefkowitz Photography on an event design showcase at Spruce. If you haven't checked this restaurant out, definitely stop by - the food is great and the ambiance, designed by Stephen Brady of Williams Sonoma Home, is very 1930's executive lounge — lots of rich tones and leather!

Chelsea Petaja, Nashville Vendor: Hair Accessories Website: Oh My Deer! About Me: "Oh, My Deer!" was born out of a love for play-on-words and getting my hands dirty. I live in Music City USA in a little loft with brick walls, concrete floors and my husband. I teach Visual Arts at a Montessori school that grows organic vegetables and composts nearly everything. It satisfies the hippie in me. I make flowers and feathers for your hair that I hope make you feel beautiful. Sometimes I make drawings and invitations for your eyes. And then that leaves everything in between that I pretend to know how to do.
About ohmydeer

I worked on a “Table Trend” for the lovely Emily over at Once Wed a few weeks ago. She is a gem, her taste is impeccable, so needless to say, it was an honor to be a part of such a fun endeavor!

About Melody @ Sweet and Saucy Shop

Check out these laser cut cupcake wrappers will take your cupcakes to the next level. They come in various designs for every kind of occasion. This product is definitely on the expensive side, costing $11.99 for 12 wrappers, but is worth it if you want a show stopper of a dessert. You can use them for a bridal shower or even for your wedding. The wrappers can be found at various online stores, but the cheapest I found them was at shopbakersnook.

Many months ago, I posted images from Noriko and John's wedding at B.R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma, and I've been meaning to show you more of the details.

When John and Noriko came to see us last fall, I was thrilled with the idea of their intimate, vineyard wedding. Noriko was quite open to many ideas and wanted me to have fun with their project, which I did. :-) Both John and Noriko are very warm people. Neither had a must-have list of flowers, so while I was shopping at the floral market, I picked up flowers, plants and foliage that felt right for their mood. It was a dream project!

Going For It

July 9th, 2009 @ 3:13 pm by Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

I have thought about it and thought about it some more. I started to research rentals and thought about it again. After a long car ride to Maine and back the decision was made. We are going to thrift our dinner and dessert plates and possibly the glasses. Cutlery is still up in the air. The decision was made for a few reasons

1. Aesthetically speaking, we like the vintage, I just-pulled-this-out-of-cupboard, nothing quite matches look.

2. Our wedding reception is most likely going to be held under a tent. Tents are pricey and so is everything that needs to go under it. If we stick to the plan of only purchasing items that are less then renting them, we are in business. Plus, after the wedding we can resell what we no longer want. Cannot do that with a rental…

3. It is sustainable. Granted rentals are too, but these will have some character!

4. Rich and I love any reason to visit the many Salvation Army stores in the area. Plus it is yard/garage sale season. Perfect!

Take Your Seat

July 7th, 2009 @ 4:31 pm by Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

There are many things to think, even worry about while planning a wedding. As we begin to tell family and friends we plan to be married and have our reception on a farm, questions begin to arise. A recent question, posed by Rich's father is, “Where are we going to sit!?” I suggested bales of hay, somewhat in jest, but knowing full well just how pretty a canvas-covered bale of hay can be when accompanied by wildflowers. Perhaps we will put a few chairs out. Just in case. :-)

thetreasuredpetal's Picture
Kristin Brancaleone, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA Vendor: Floral Designer Website: The Treasured Petal About Me: The Treasured Petal is a reflection of my love for scrumptious flowers, yummy textures, colors, ribbons, and all the other girly splurges that being a florist allows me to enjoy on a daily basis. Although I don't discriminate when it comes to flowers, my two favorites would have to be cattleya orchids and gloriosa lilies, which I carried in a ginormous bouquet on my wedding day. When I'm not crafting wedding florals and consulting with brides, I am usually at the dog park with my dogs Pesto and Basil, cooking healthy vegan dinners, watching Seinfeld with my husband Joe, at Bible study, or scouring craigslist for antique furniture to fill up my new house. I am also kind of a home-body and really love sipping tea in my pajamas while working my way down my google reader blog list!
About thetreasuredpetal

Chair decor is such a sweet touch. It needn't be extravagant- just a little something to make the bride and groom feel special as they sit down for their wedding feast.

angelswanson's Picture
Angel Swanson, Los Angeles Vendor: Wedding Planner Website: Events of Love and Splendor About Me: I plan, design, coordinate weddings in southern California for living. It's a dream job and I adore every aspect of it! I find inspiration everyday in nature, art, history, and fashion, and bring my whimsical personal aesthetic to each event I take on. I love to travel and am always planning my next vacation. Cooking is also a passion -- in another life I would be a Food Network star.
About angelswanson

I am so delighted to share this lovely event with you today, as it was an early favorite for 2009. :) Julia contacted me with a vision for a fresh, chic, spring-inspired affair that reflected a love for literature. We discussed a citrus + gray palette that had me absolutely smitten. When you pair poppy sorbet colors with cool, calm slate gray, you get magic! Pure white was the perfect addition for a neutral accent. The final result? A refreshing, cheerful, and altogether sweet scene that made me (literally) squeal with joy.

In addition to our yummy fruit-inspired colors (think grapefruit, raspberry, lemon, tangerine…), we decided to play up the charm by integrating playful, vintage-feeling décor. Think eclectic bookshop meets saccharine-sweet nostalgic candy shop. :) Vases were mostly distressed mercury glass, while vintage books and galvanized metals were featured throughout the wedding. In a flash of brilliance, Kristin of The Treasured Petal put together unique hurricane vases (for candles) by wrapping glass cylinders with pages torn from favorite books, printed on semi-opaque vellum. Take a peek at the outcome of our planning, as captured by the fabulous Mike and Emi of Evoke Photography. I looove working with these two, as they always deliver gorgeous portraits and detail shots that are classic with a fresh edge. :) Plus they are sooo much fun! xo
