I am so excited to share photos with you from one of my past events. The week I made these desserts was one of the busiest yet for my business, and by the end I was physically aching but it was all worth it. Let's get onto the desserts! Hopefully, this will give you some inspiration for your own events. ![]()
So, I received an order for 1,000 mini desserts for my church's leadership and launch party. The fun part about this menu is they left the choices up to me, so I got to try a couple new dessert ideas and play around with fun presentation ideas. Overall the party went really great, but as I said earlier…I was so happy when it was all over.
Here are some photos of the goodies!

Well since it's summer, I'm trying to eat a little more on the lighter side these days. I decided to make a strawberry sorbet…they don't have any calories right?
To add some more pizazz to the sorbet, I made some brown sugar meringues and candied pecans to go with it. Overall, I thought the dessert was good, nothing outrageously delicious to write home to mom about, but still yummy. The sorbet really did taste like you were eating a strawberry, not too sweet at all, so if you like things natural then this is definitely the recipe for you. This would be great for a summer bridal shower.
I had a ton of fun making the meringues and choosing which designs to make with them. And for those of you who think you'll never make homemade caramelized nuts think again! This recipe took about all of 5 minutes to whip together and only involves 3 ingredients! Even though this dessert had three different components to it, it really was a user friendly dessert. Each component was extremely easy and fast to make. The only time consuming part is baking the meringues and freezing the ice cream, but you can be busy doing other things while these things take place. Also, if you want to plan ahead each one of these could be made ahead of time and then assembled at the last minute. As you can see by the multitude of photos, I got a little excited when playing with this dessert and tried out many, many different ways to style it. Hope you enjoy them!

Get ready for some gorgeous photos!!! I have to say that I was so excited when one of my old friends from college asked me to do the desserts for her wedding. To make it even better she introduced me to Jesi, of Jesi Haack Weddings, who planned the whole wedding and design! Since the day we met Jesi and I have hit it off, and I absolutely love spending any time I can with her. She is a fabulous job with every detail of this wedding and really carried Kayli and Darren's wedding design to the next level!
I was so excited when I got to the venue and saw the incredible backdrop Jesi created for my desserts! I can't thank her enough! Not only was I blessed with an amazing planner for this wedding, but the photographer is one of my favorites! Aaron Shintaku, from Aaron Shintaku Photography, captured these fantastic images and literally left me speechless when I first saw them. Congratulations to Kayli and Darren…may your marriage be greatly blessed!

This post is all about love…I have been meeting with lots of brides lately, and recently we did some fun bridal showers and a wedding cake with mini desserts too. These first photos are of the wedding. The bride wanted to incorporate lots of color, her love of butterflies, and their gorgeous monogram that they featured on their invitations. This is the design we came up with!
I am noticing a sprouting of new artisanal ice cream shops popping up, and I am definitely loving it. It seems they are the new cupcake boutique. Here are a few of my favorites I am dying to try…

I went looking through my recipe files the other day and picked out a few recipes that I wanted to try. Of course two of the recipes I picked had passion fruit in them, I don't know what it is, but the fruit is somewhat alluring to me. The first recipe I tried was from Martha Stewart, and it was her “Cookie of the Month” a while back. The recipe was for coconut cookies with passion fruit curd. I thought it would be a instant hit with my taste buds! The cookies turned out very cute looking, but the wow factor for the taste was just not there for me.
The cookies I think needed a little more flavor or sweetness and could've been a little crisper. The passion fruit curd was good, but also needed a little more sweetness to it in my opinion. I almost thought I would like to add a little cream cheese frosting to it to mellow out the flavor and sweeten it up, but sadly I had none. I do have some leftover curd though and might try it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out. So, overall I wasn't blown away, but the idea of the recipe does seem like a winner to me. I think I am going to tweak the recipe and try it again sometime. Well, for anyone for wants to give this recipe a try too here are some photos I took along the way. Let me know your thoughts!

Here is the recipe and photos of some Reese's bars I made. This is a recipe from Pichet Ong's book, The Sweet Spot, but I did tweak it slightly by using semi-sweet chocolate instead of milk chocolate. Although I do love milk chocolate with some desserts, I am definitely more of a fan of semi-sweet and bittersweet, so I thought I would try it instead. And believe me -they turned out sooo good! So without further ado here is the sinful recipe!

I got the chance to teach another cooking class at my church. I teach these classes once every other month as a ministry, and we always have a great time. This class' theme was “Perfect Party Foods and Desserts.” I got a lot of inspiration for this menu from fellow bloggers and decided to make Bakerella's Cupcake Bites and The Pioneer Lady's Fancy Flower Pots. I wanted to spice these desserts up a bit by using mostly homemade components instead of using store-bought ones, although these would be delicious either way.
Everyone had a blast making these desserts, and I was thrilled with their creations. Both of these desserts would be great for a bridal shower. ![]()
So, to start off this long post I will begin with the photos of the Fancy Flower Pot desserts. I made chocolate peanut-butter and apricot-pistachio ice creams for this dessert. I also bought some quality store-bought ice cream and gelato so people would have a variety to choose from. Here are my photos to give you an idea of the process, but I would recommend going to The Pioneer Lady's website for full instructions.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I wanted to share with you photos of treats I made.
I had a bridal shower to go to for one of my best friends. Her bridal shower theme was “shades of blue” so I made blue lingerie cookies for the shower. I wrote their initials on some of the cookies for a personal touch.
On Friday, we were invited to have dessert with some friends. I made these ice cream cupcakes to take along and share.
