I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.
Oh the sweetness that was Jess and Jay's candy buffet! Jess spent months finding the perfect apothecary jars and glass vessels to hold all of the candy. She found this article very helpful in creating her candy buffet and sourcing bulk candy. She purchased all of the candy during the winter and early spring to avoid shipping candy in the warmer weather. The chocolate lighthouses and chocolate covered pretzels were homemade by my sister, mom and aunt. Jess did the entire set-up herself the day before their wedding {like I have said before, the girl has a knack for working with all things sweet}.
I design the candy labels to coordinate with their invitations and coasters. We attached the labels with some cute pink and green grosgrain ribbon. I also designed a little sign that invited people to enjoy the candy buffet. I created a PDF template of each that is free for you to download! Just click the links below.
As you might imagine, the candy buffet was a huge hit! By the end of the night everyone was carrying around their own pink or green takeout container filled to the brim with sweet treats.

We are swooning over the adorable anniversary gift that H!L designer Shauna made for her husband for their 2nd anniversary. Traditionally, cotton is the suggested gift (ok, so this is wool, but it's still in the fiber family!) so she knit up a tiny heart using this pattern, then embroidered her and her husband's initials on the front and their 2nd anniversary date on the back. So cute!
Flush Designs, PasadenaVendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, PhotographyWebsite: Flush DesignsAbout Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
Here is a little fun project I put together for the lovely Janie over at The Brides Cafe - how to turn a boring terra cotta pot into a lovely rustic style affair. Cost for the whole project including plants and supplies is $70 but that is with extra rope, glue, paper and twine left over to do another set. The pots run from $1-$3 so your next table will be about $30 with plants!! The best part is you can do it the week leading up to your wedding as long as you keep them good and watered! Add a few fresh cut flowers into the morning of to give a little more volume I added billy balls and scabosia pods. Both can actually be done days before as they are so hardy. Here is the list of supplies and instructions!

Yesterday I shared some photos of Leah's bridal bouquet that I created using big felt posies, grey and white mother of pearl buttons, and some special painted buttons in bright shades of teal and turquoise.
Teal, light pink, and certain shades of blue and green are highly sought-after colors by my clients, and the high demand comes with a high price. To avoid passing the cost on to my customers, sometimes I carefully paint plain buttons to match the customer's color palette, and when done right, no one can tell the difference. In this video I show you how to save money by painting your own plain, boring buttons to achieve the same effect!
Also remember to vote for me to win Martha Stewart's DIY wedding crafts contest and help me achieve my dream of teaching a craft on the Martha Stewart Show! You guys have been crazy supportive so far and I think I might actually have a shot at this!

I loved working with Leah, one of my first local Omaha brides. Her super low-key wedding is August 16th and she's wearing a gray and teal dress. She contacted me several weeks ago to make her a short-notice bouquet on a small budget. I'm so happy that I accepted the challenge because the results are so stunning to me!
Kimberly Canale, Brooklyn, NYVendor: Event DesignerWebsite: Inspired GoodnessAbout Me: From the moment the engagement ring was slipped onto my finger, I've been in love with all-things-wedding. I still get teary eyed reading proposal stories in magazines and love sneaking a peek at a bride and groom glancing at one another for the first time, as the ceremony is about to begin. With each of my clients, I get to know their personality, family background and hear the story of how they met and fell in love. Each piece becomes another element from which I use to build the overall vision for their wedding day.
As the Creative Director at Inspired Goodness, my job is to create the various details that makes each of our weddings come to life. My work incorporates classic elements; engraving, hand calligraphy and vintage typography. Using a mix of found objects and flea market pieces lends a rich history to my work and challenges me to find creative ways to use mass-produced elements, each with a chic and timeless result.
With every new client, I get to explore avenues I've yet to pass and love knowing that the next adventure is just around the corner!
Now that Shira and Loren have finally said “I do”, I have a ton of projects I spent the past few months on that I can finally share!!
With the popularity of the DIY Envelope Liners and all the amazing feedback we received about the custom Family Tree designed for their invitations, I wanted to show our gift to this happy couple - a custom etched mirror.
Doing glass or mirror etching is actually very simple. Once you find someone who can output your art into vinyl, it’s a very short process and the results are pretty amazing. I was even impressed upon seeing the final result!

I was so excited when I received an email a couple months ago from Melissa Murphy's marketing agent asking me if I'd want to review her book, The Sweet Melissa Baking Book… of course my response was a quick “Yes!” I have been a huge fan of Melissa's for a while now. I found her Zagat rated patisserie online, which is located in Brooklyn, New York, and fell in love with the photos on her website. I was then able to watch videos and get recipes from her MySpace page and have been hooked from then on. Melissa's pies and tarts have been rated #1 by the Zagat Marketplace which is an unbelievable accomplishment if you ask me. Many of you have probably also seen her work her wonders on the Food Network Challenge: Edible Ornaments. She is such an inspiration to me and really proves that your dreams can come true.
Well once the book arrived at my doorstep, I tore the box open and devoured the book page by page. My book is pretty pathetic looking now that I have marked over half the book's pages with sticky notes… and these were just the recipes I considered baking for the blog! I have to say that this is an amazing book which will keep you baking all year long. I could name every recipe for you, but I wouldn't want to torture you any more… my suggestion is to just go and get the book and enjoy yourself to the fullest as you ohh and ahh over every delectable recipe.
