Amelia & Justin @ Amelia Lyon Photography's Picture
Amelia & Justin Lyon, Orange County Vendor: Photographer Website: Amelia Lyon Photography About Me: Hi, I am Amelia. I like to dance and sing my heart out in the car. My family has been in the wedding industry for 3 generations. Being the first photographer in the family, it has given me a unique perspective on how to keep things fresh and fun! Hello, I am Justin. I like to play Ping-Pong, and I too like to dance. Being a film and TV producer by trade, I am obsessed with finding the story that every image has to tell. Collectively we are wedding, portrait and music photographers. Now that we've started to tell you our story, why don't you let us capture yours?
About Amelia & Justin @ Amelia Lyon Photography

I immediately was drawn to PJ + Yea because of their endearing personalities, both so fun to be around and so real! We shot their engagement session in Downtown LA. I arrived and thought to myself, “hmmmm, I've seen this before!”, but didn't know from what. Then it came to me! We were just around the corner from where The Aquabats Fashion Zombies music video was filmed (Justin produced this a few years back). This was also the same location where the fight scene from Anchorman was shot! Yea actually works in the film industry and has access to all of the hot film locations. I was excited to have a super sweet couple to work with, and even more excited with the awesome location choice, nice job PJ + Yea!

Jerry Yoon, San Francisco Vendor: Photographer Website: Jerry Yoon Photography About Me: Gone are the days of being stuck with boring wedding photography, where everyone and everything looks like the same old photographer took it. We're not here to please your mom. We want to rock your socks off with imagery that explodes off the page and makes you feel all fuzzy inside. We're inspired by who you are and not what others think you should be. Playwright, architect, nuclear scientist, tax man, dance machine, burly construction man, blog stalker. We take them all. Can't wait to jump into the pool together and make something your kindergarten teacher would be proud of!
About jerryyoon

This destination engagement shoot was special. This is my cousin, Sarah, and her fiance, Steve. She'll be the first to go in our family, so it's been fun realizing that I get to be such an integral part at this point in her life. Ingrid and I spent almost a whole week out there with them, so we got to know Steve pretty well. Before that, I had only seen him three times briefly, so hanging out with him at his home was very different. They are both busy doctors, but Steve manages to watch and re-watch every episode of So You Think You Can Dance. He's Tivo'ed every episode, so one night he got us caught up on the whole season! We were mesmerized, because we actually don't own a TV.

We'll be shooting their wedding next year, so you'll be seeing a ton of pics of my family up here, which is going to be a weird experience for me.

I just adore Christa and Tim. Their love is laughter, and I love to laugh! I'm so excited for their super laid back September wedding in a couple weeks! Lilian + Scott; Engaged!

August 17th, 2009 @ 8:29 am by Punam Bean

Lilian and Scott are so much fun! They just found out a couple of weeks ago that they'll be moving back to their hometown of San Francisco (and also, my future home!), and so we did a session in their ‘hood as a nice keepsake for their time in this wonderful city (and my current home!)! Also! I'm trying out a new feature, so if you click on any of the images they'll open up in a light box! Yay!

About Amelia & Justin @ Amelia Lyon Photography

Since we were out of town for so long, we tried our best to keep up with everything, but with all of the crazy events over the past month, our blogging habits have slowed down and I am DETERMINED to get back to blogging twice a week again. So here's a second entry for the week, and maybe if you're all lucky :) we'll get a third post up before the week is over!

Introducing Molly + John! We shot their engagement session in Long Beach near the Aquarium. I've been excited about posting this session because it really displays a wide array of natural lit images (minus my favorite shot of the day shot with off camera flash). Plus, these photos show Molly + John's personality so well; they were and are great together, especially for our camera!

Courtney @ Flush Designs's Picture
Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

You may remember Kelly and Chris's fun Palm Springs wedding. Here are some photos from their engagement shoot.

We shot for 4 hours (maybe even 5) all around the LACMA and Le Brea Tar Pits. The shoot came out fantastic - we couldn't be happier. We started with a little picnic then wondered around with a big yellow balloon (the main color of their wedding), then took a fun break at Molly Malones capture them hanging with some beers and goofing around on the stage. Then to the fabulous lamp post installation piece in front of the LACMA. It has been so photographed by tourists and others alike that the photos are now becoming part of the art! We also included a little Cuppielove…which I then devoured the props… mmm.

It was so fun! I hope we didn't tire them out. ;)

Seriously what gets better than a beach cruiser, a soccer ball, some pin wheels, and the pier?? I think this shoot turned out great! We just cruised the pier and boardwalk and just shot away… no way to avoid the people so why not just include them, right?

It was really crowded. The red heart was carried through out the whole day to bring the story of the day together. Finished off the night with a cold one… mmmm. :)

We are just so excited to shoot the wedding in October. This couple is so fun I am sure the wedding will be a blast!

Pia + Micah: Engaged!

July 27th, 2009 @ 11:25 am by Punam Bean

Running a little late, we found ourselves fighting the setting of the sun at Coney Island. Pia and Micah are so gorgeous, and so at home with each other, that our being pressed for time really had no bearing.

After the shoot, we shared some messy Nathan's hot dogs and marveled at the gift that is Coney Island not being torn down (technically speaking). Seriously, my brides and grooms are all so lovely. I'm finding myself shooting one thing after the next and just thinking –'Wow, I get to work with some beautiful, joyful, amazing folks!!'

I'm thankful for the awesome people I get to work with. Dana and Rob invited myself and Husbone to take some pictures of them in their home town of Hoboken, and then they cooked us an amazing dinner! With ice cream! We had such a great time, and I so look forward to the beautiful pictures we'll make this October!!

Amina @ Still Motion's Picture
Amina Wojcik, Toronto, Canada Vendor: Photography Website: Still Motion About Me: Amina is sassy, easily combustible, and eclectic. Her images are both timeless and edgy, but most importantly, her images are emotional. They tell not only the grander story of the day, but also the peripheral moments that make up the final feature. She is inspired by both photojournalism and fashion photography, creating a truly unique approach and experience.
About Amina @ Still Motion

We got a familiar remark from a stranger when we were shooting their engagement photos: “You know, there's a really nice area down there that you can shoot in”.

Translation: “Dude. you're crazy. Why on earth are you shooting here?”

Amber and Jordan already did half a shoot with us in the fall, so when we went out for the second half this spring, we wanted to change it up. So we did something a little different from last time. And when they came in to the studio to see their photos, they couldn't just pick a few to enlarge, so they decided to do an engagement book.

Here are a few of my favourite spreads.

Oh… and when they showed up for their shoot, Amber still had her rollers in. I couldn't resist. ;)
