Here is a new flower bouquet I put together today for Emily’s wedding. I love these little polka dots. Like chicken pox. ![]()

I’m thinking about designing some little tiny fluffy flowers for flower girls to toss from a basket as they walk down the aisle. They could come in a packet of 50, and then later be made into pins or barrettes or strung up to make a keepsake banner.
Thanks for the great response on the flower headbands I posted about last week.
Here’s another lovely piece I made for Pamela’s flower girl. She wanted the flowers and colors to match those of the “lovebirds” ring pillow that I custom made. I also incorporated a feather to compliment her bouquet.
Check out Pamela’s blog to see how she’s putting her “Hollywood glam” wedding together and how she added her own twist to the piece.

I’ve been looking forward to posting new photos my friend and talented photographer Abdi, at Three photographers, took a couple of weeks ago.
These little headbands were made for Lynne’s flower girls. She’s getting married the first week of June — not far from now! I was so thrilled when she brought up the idea of creating these head pieces. I always love going into Manhattan and searching for stuff, especially when I get to visit the trimming/beading district — so fun. ![]()

Disclaimer: I am dead against beauty pageants and making little girls look like mini Barbies! I encourage my nieces to read, learn, explore, play sports and get dirty. However, playing with makeup, hair and clothes can be a fun part of being a girl (not the only part!).
I love to put a little shimmer and gloss on the little girls and I wanted to show you all a way to do it without spending more than $10. I know that some people may not be a fan of any makeup for young girls, and I completely respect that. I apply makeup to include the flower girl in the pampering process and to make her feel extra special. She gets to be part of the “big girl” ritual and who doesn’t like a little gloss and sparkle?
For girls 10 and below, it is completely age appropriate to dust a little shimmer shadow on their eye lids and cheeks in a sheer pink or champagne. Top their lips with a pink sheer gloss and they are all “princessed” up! For older girls, you may want to apply a little mascara and a blush with a little more pigment. Painting their nails can also be a fun part of the process. Here are some great products from e.l.f. that are super duper affordable:

How much are we loving the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses over at J. Crew right now? So much it hurts! I mean, how cute is this little ruffled dress? Read more…
