One new thing that I am doing that you will see in my shop after the Silver Bella paper arts event in November is big, fat, felt peony-shaped flowers with long stems.

One of the many wonderful things about being in the Bay Area is the proximity to Heath Ceramics. Their gorgeous line of pottery, tile and ceramics has been around since the mid-40’s and everything is handmade in their Sausalito studio. We love their simple designs, stunning color and dependable quality. If you’re not lucky enough to visit their Sausalito Factory store, or Los Angeles boutique, everything is available online. What an amazing place to register at for your upcoming wedding!

We are swooning over the adorable anniversary gift that H!L designer Shauna made for her husband for their 2nd anniversary. Traditionally, cotton is the suggested gift (ok, so this is wool, but it’s still in the fiber family!) so she knit up a tiny heart using this pattern, then embroidered her and her husband’s initials on the front and their 2nd anniversary date on the back. So cute!
Sarah Parrott, Rhode IslandVendor: Invitation DesignerWebsite: Parrott Design StudioAbout Me: I am the designer & printer behind Parrott Design Studio, specializing in custom letterpress and screen printed wedding and event invitations, stationery, and paper goods. With a background in non-profit marketing & art history, I began the studio in 2006 in my small apartment in Providence, RI. Since then I have moved to a studio built my fiancé, acquired a Golding Jobber letterpress, & have been happily printing ever since. I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.
My sister’s wedding has come and gone. Phew! I have not danced that much since my cousin’s wedding in Chicago two years ago! My sister did an amazing job with all of the little details, especially the bridesmaid’s gifts. Jess had clutches custom made for each bridesmaid to match the colors of her wedding - black, white, and pink. The clutches were perfect and just the right size. I was able to fit my cell phone, lip gloss, gum {which she included in each one}, and my ever-important maid of honor speech.
Jess also gave each of us a necklace to wear on the big day. We all wore black dresses so these necklaces add a nice bit of sparkle. As the Maid of Honor, Jess also gave me the prettiest flower to wear in my hair…which she made! I love those guinea feathers. More photos of her wedding to come!

Melody Brandon, Long Beach, CAVendor: BakerWebsite: Sweet and Saucy ShopAbout Me: Sweet & Saucy Shop is a dessert studio that specializes in cakes, cookies, and cupcakes, as well as many other goodies that taste as good as they look. Our new bakery storefront will be up and running within the next two months!
My husband’s side of the family has an interesting tradition for celebrating birthdays. Instead of celebrating everyone’s birthday on their actual birthday they like to group birthdays together from a 3-4 month period and celebrate about 10 people’s birthdays all together. Now this arrangement does have its pluses, but it also has its negatives -try being 24 years old and having enough money for 8 birthdays!!
Well, one benefit of being a pastry chef is using my culinary skills to make homemade gifts that make people forget that I didn’t spend the big bucks on them. I decided to try out a new recipe for the big party extravaganza! I took a look through my folder full of cupcake recipes that I’ve been wanting to try out and I kept flipping back to Chockylit’s recipe for Salted Caramel Frosting, so I decided to try it out.

Today I created a video tutorial to show you how to make these beautiful ruffled cuff bracelets. I have made them for many of my friends and I always get compliments when I wear one. You can definitely follow my exact directions, or tailor it to suit your own style. Many brides also order them covered in fluffy, frothy flowers as re-wearable alternatives to traditional corsages.
If you like this project, leave a comment and give me some feedback, and if you want to try it out, I have re-written the list of materials you need as well as the basic instructions below.

I stumbled across this brilliant idea over at inchmark, and I am smitten!! Brooke decided to cheer up her New York friends by sending them a box of spring! I love this idea. Imagine getting something like that in the mail from one of your friends! Instant smiles!

I’m huge fan of the neckties from Cyberoptix Tie Lab (they are one of my favorite gifts to give). They are elegant and a little subversive -perfect for a young professional who wants to stand out a bit in the job search. Professor Lasertron always complains about how men have it harder in the fashion arena, because they have fewer options, but luckily Cyberoptix makes the neckwear choice a little easier.
I found Cyberoptix’s photostream on Flickr, and I’ve been having so much fun looking through it today. There are some very creative color combinations!
