Enchanted Tea Party

September 25th, 2009 @ 2:54 pm by Wiley Valentine

I have been so inspired by this fabulous ad for The Langham Hotel in London that I created an inspiration board around it… next stop invitations! I mean seriously check out her pretty dress with hot pink tights and matching pumps! How glamorous does this place look - not to mention the touch of whimsy as she is carried away by butterflies! Yes please! Can you picture a bridal shower with this as its inspiration…

Kim @ Inspired Goodness's Picture
Kimberly Canale, Brooklyn, NY Vendor: Event Designer Website: Inspired Goodness About Me: From the moment the engagement ring was slipped onto my finger, I've been in love with all-things-wedding. I still get teary eyed reading proposal stories in magazines and love sneaking a peek at a bride and groom glancing at one another for the first time, as the ceremony is about to begin. With each of my clients, I get to know their personality, family background and hear the story of how they met and fell in love. Each piece becomes another element from which I use to build the overall vision for their wedding day. As the Creative Director at Inspired Goodness, my job is to create the various details that makes each of our weddings come to life. My work incorporates classic elements; engraving, hand calligraphy and vintage typography. Using a mix of found objects and flea market pieces lends a rich history to my work and challenges me to find creative ways to use mass-produced elements, each with a chic and timeless result. With every new client, I get to explore avenues I've yet to pass and love knowing that the next adventure is just around the corner!

London Calling

August 18th, 2009 @ 4:29 pm by Kim @ Inspired Goodness

Walking down 5th Avenue, I was awestruck at the cool store windows at Juicy Couture. Various size London guards were precariously hanging and supporting the latest fashions.

I was asked recently in an interview what my dream wedding would look like, and for some reason I can’t get this image out of my mind. It would be vintage glamour in the middle of a forest. Think chandeliers hanging from tree tops and a moss covered ground. Think fairy land meets ballerina meets flea market treasures. Below are some inspiration boards I put together with this style in mind.

I {heart} Snippet and Ink

February 20th, 2009 @ 11:46 am by Wiley Valentine

One of my very favorite wedding blogs is Snippet and Ink. Kathryn has such an eye for amazing wedding inspirations. If you haven’t checked out her inspiration boards, it’s really a must, especially if you are getting married. My favorite part about the boards is that she notes the {mood} and {palette} for each! So fun! Here are a few of my favorites…

Lavender Hill

Nancy

We’re finally getting the last few images from fall weddings, and this one is just so sweet. As many of you might know, I got married at Kohl Mansion in 2000 so when it comes to a wedding venue with a special place in my heart, it’s got to be Burlingame’s Kohl Mansion. The English Tudor style mansion is a school for girls by day, but host to parties and memorable weddings by night. In all my years, no two weddings at Kohl have ever the same.

Golden Years

February 11th, 2009 @ 2:22 pm by Nancy @ Nancy Liu Chin Designs

Having come back from the high of being amongst so many event professionals at the TSE, I am still trying to process some of the things I learned and saw.

One color and concept that seems to be on its way back is this return to classic design. Always popular, refined and beautiful weddings with classic hues of blushes, champagnes, gold are timeless.

Courtney @ Flush Designs's Picture
Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

Rain delay, bad? No good! It gives me 2 more weeks to do 2 more tables. Because I will have already rented the table, chairs and boring linens for the Frida tabletop, I figured I might as well do a few more with the “base” or “limitations” of what a bride is given at a venue. I will be putting together a total of 3 tabletops for Once Wed’s table trends. “Frida Fiesta”, “Modern Breathless” and a ” A Vintage Study”. All will be on a round table, with white table linens as the base, but each {hopefully} portraying some fun and different themes. As always in order to research and prepare, I like to make an inspiration board, so here they are. You can see from previous posts on the “Frida Fiesta” that it is ready to go, but now I must go get everything I need for these two other tabletop in just 2 weeks. FUN! Hope they look interesting…. :)

Frida Kahlo Garden Fiesta

January 22nd, 2009 @ 3:58 pm by Courtney @ Flush Designs

I have the pleasure of designing another table top trend for Emily over at Once Wed (here is the first one I did), which I will have done at the end of this month. So here is my inspiration: bright colors, rustic pots, vintage fabrics and tamales! I have challenged myself to using a round table with a white table cloth, white napkins and boring white dishes…. everything most venues supply for weddings! :( I want to show that boring linens and static dishware can be made to look exciting by bringing in a few elements on your own without having to re-rent everything you’re already supplied (which defeats the purpose of the all in one venue and a budget).

Hope I can do it! :)
