I came across this fabulous collaboration the other day and I am so in love! Jonathan Adler designed a life size Barbie Dream House and the results are over the top pretty pink girly magic! From a closet filled with hot pink Christian Louboutin shoes, to a mirror made from vintage barbies, to a chandelier made from barbie’s hair! Wow!

I stumbled upon this website while reading one of my favorite blogs, Unruly Things. Samantha Robinson is a porcelain artist whose website is one of the most innovative I have seen in some time. I just adore the pencil-sketchy-casual feel with pops of unexpected color.
Dive into her website to find lovely porcelain vessels adorned with gorgeous pattern work in all shades of color. I am especially enamored with these Illuminators.

I am absolutely smitten with all things crochet lately. I love the new unique ways etsy artists are using crochet and I just simply cannot get enough!

Ok so while visiting my parents in Park City the other day, I stumbled across this absolutely perfect packaging in their freezer and I was jumping up and down I was so excited. The packaging is for this all natural, amazing gelato called Talenti. The packaging reminds me of a lush body scrub, however it holds actual gelato! How fun! Some of the fabulous flavors include Caramel Cookie Crunch, Argentine Dulce de Leche, and Old World Eggnog. See for yourself…

I am feeling very Halloween inspired lately, and not in the traditional orange and black/pumpkin/candy corn way, but more of a dark and moody, red and black, Twilight way. You feel me?

Think cobweb covered deep red florals, blood red cocktails, and quirky fun details. As an artist who has been painting nearly every day for the last 20 years, I have inevitably developed a list of artists who I admire. Georgia O’Keefe, for me, is the quintessential artist. As a young painter myself, I recall poring over 100 Flowers, marveling at each juicy floral. In college, O’ Keeffe’s Light Iris and many others graced my dorm room walls.
What I admire most about O’Keeffe are her interpretations of subject matter. To put it quite simply, she painted the flower as it made her feel. Through examination of brush stroke, color and texture O’Keeffe brought each bloom to life while infusing her personality and perspective.
Now please note, I do not presume to compare my watercolor invitations to an O’Keeffe painting, really. I do however approach my subjects for painting in a similar fashion. When I set out to paint a bloom or landscape or whatever it may be, I find something that excites me. Instead of reproducing the exact reality that I see, I instead infuse my vision into the painting. More intense color, small dots or flourishes here and there, an exaggeration of shadow all capture a sense of excitement and life that I see in the subject matter I paint.
As you may have noticed by now, I can’t get enough of girly, pink, lovely color palettes. The combination of pink and black reminds me of a slightly naughty ballerina look, which I adore for a wedding or party. I have a vision of these fabulous love poem books given as favors, as guests sip on Sofia pink champagne and can I please wear that fabulous fairy skirt!!? Sigh…

Well once again Braedon of Braedon Photography has sent over the most fabulous wedding for us all to enjoy. Not only are the photos gorgeous but this wedding has such fabulous details I could not wait to share! The wedding took place at the grooms family vineyard in Napa. I love the backyard-chic vibe of this wedding. One of my favorite looks.

Recently I reached out to Chrissy from A Perfect Palette with a fun idea. She picks the palette, I create the invite. So Chrissy emailed several of her favorite inspiration boards from The Perfect Palette Blog (a must read if you don’t already) and I chose “Yellow Makes Me Happy” to inspire this week’s custom invitation creation.
