Susan found me over a year ago, and I am so glad that she did. She is all smiles, though she kept trying not to smile, and the more she tried not to, the more David would make her laugh, or she would make herself laugh, or maybe even I would make her laugh. But I LOVE her smile, so I threw a couple of smiley ones in, because I think you’ll love her smile, too. I had such a wonderful time. It was a GORGEOUS day, which you’ll hear me say often as the weather gets warmer, and we did our session in Prospect Park (the Central Park of Brooklyn.) It was just beautiful, amazing wonderful! I also was feeling a bit texture-y today, too, and very inspired. Yay pictures!

Anne has no idea how gorgeous she is and that is one of the many reasons why I like her so much. When she came for her trial at my apartment she was stressed out with planning a June wedding and finishing up her M.B.A (from Harvard no less!) and was still so open and lovely. I think she is Katherine Heigl’s long lost twin, but of course Anne doesn’t see that!
Anne and Alex are a gorgeous young couple; they also seem to be so happy together. They are both a little camera shy, which you would never guess from Danny Weiss’s stunning photos. Danny did a great job of getting them to open up and have fun with the camera, and the result is amazing.
I stayed until the beginning of the reception to do touch-ups and give her a more “bronzed diva” look for evening. Anne and Alex took some photos directly after the ceremony and attended the tail end of their cocktail party, but they spent a great part of their first hour as a married couple with me in the private bridal room as I “glammed up” Anne. I felt sorry for the two newlyweds having to hang out with me, but what’s a makeup artist to do - my bride needed me!
I love my job for many reasons and one is that I get to witness some of the most special and momentous times in a person’s life. Best of luck Alex and Anne!

One of the coolest things in the world is when someone would get on a plane to let me take pictures of them. I mean, I know I live in NYC, and there’s a lot of stuff to do, and one can make a nice little weekend out of a small trip. But for those couples I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting when we decide to work together, it’s really a neat thing to say “nice to meet you let’s take some pictures”.
Enter Sherene and Peter. I had only spoke to Sherene on the phone before, but immediately I felt a connection, and instant comfortableness — it was the kind of thing where we were talking like friends on the phone, instantly. And it was no different when we met! Sherene and Peter are a wonderful couple and were kind enough to share with me this amazing love that they have for each other. I just watched them watch each other, and I was so filled with emotion that I couldn’t help but smile at them. I really had such a wonderful day with the two. Thanks so much for sharing with me, guys!
Sherene and Peter stayed for a night at the Hudson Hotel, which I had never been before. People! This place is awesome and gorgeous! I really, really wanted to shoot some photos of them in the bar there — the whole floor of the bar is a light box — and the decor is unreal! They wouldn’t allow it because it was closed. Someone, please get married here and hire me as your photographer! I would be one happy photographer!!!

Soo Jin and Paul have known each other since they were five. They had an on-and-off relationship since then, which is kind of the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard of. Five! People! It takes some people their whole lives, and they found it when they were practically babies. We went to the Bronx Zoo for our session (my most favoritest place ever!). I had a blast!

Let me start by saying that these two are gorgeous. Is it repetitive to say that I had a blast hanging out with them? Because I did. And also, Tricia had amazing shoes (see exhibit A). She really was quite a trouper, hiking through the park in those! So I wanted to make sure we gave those fabulous shoes some blog love! And also, this fabulous couple. They made eyes on the C train eight years ago. There is true love to be had on the C train, folks! See?

Donna and David introduced me to awesome corn concoctions, and we just chatted and had a great time shooting into the early darkness of the evening. I love doing these sessions because they just make me that much more excited for the wedding day!! Enjoy!

The drive to Java, NY was spectacular - rolling hills, farmland and little Victorian cottages that lined the roads. On my way down, the weather was beautiful, with a cool breeze and a few fluffy clouds. As the day went on we had a mix of sun and rain, with heavy rain at times (see photo below).
Overall, it was an amazing day. Erica and Jay were exceptionally fun to work with, and had absolutely no problem going in the pouring rain. They even rowed themselves over to the reception, which was across the lake from their ceremony.
Here are a few photos that I especially liked.

Hello friends!
Whew! I feel like ever since the Bones and I made our beauteous trip to Venezuela, it’s just been nonstop!! Since that time, we have been in South America, then Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida again, South Carolina again, back to New York, then off to Nevada! And next month, we’ll be in Nigeria, New Mexico, and Washington DC! AHH! I have to say though, I love to travel, and every minute of it has been awesome!
And so, after a marathon of traveling, I’m staying behind this time while Husbone goes off for another 10 days, and we wait for our Nigeria visas to come through. What have I planned? Not much. I haven’t been home alone for a while. Anyone want to get drinks in the city??
In the meantime, I’d really like to introduce you to Lesley and Jason. I am SO excited to be able to shoot their wedding. Saturday was the first time we met, over brunch and some nice conversation. We frolicked in my home town, and they were beautiful, simple and elegant. I can’t WAIT to see Lesley in her Jenny Packham dress! It’s gonna be off the hook!!
It’s just been too long since I’ve had the opportunity to frolic in the park with some in love people, and get them to bend to my every whim! I had such a great time with James and Somi! They will marry in late March on a yacht, sailing some waters in the land of Korea. I’m so sad that I won’t get to be there because I would love to photograph these two in that exact situation. They wrapped arms around one another and they fit, in just the way I love to observe. And make photos. See?!
So, Tracy and Dan. These guys are really special. I had such a great time at this wedding, it was so beautiful, and these two are so made for each other. And seriously, the venue, which I had never heard of before, was BEAUTIFUL! It was like an old cathedral, only there were no pews, and the reception was right in the venue! So it was like having a reception in a cathedral! Gorgeous! Anyway, enough talk… I had meant for this to be a brief preview, but as I went through all the images, I just couldn’t help but share them in heaps! So enjoy while I go back into my workshop and make a slideshow! Yay!
