Another fun session by Aubrey and Blake. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of those places where shooting inside is pretty challenging. You’ve got the dim lighting and crowds of people. They almost make it look easy!

Whitney returned to Spruce Point Inn for a second weekend in a row. Same venue, but every wedding is always different from the previous one no matter the location. Elizabeth and Derrick met online in Philadelphia, and returned to Elizabeth’s home state to tie the knot in a Romanian Orthodox ceremony and seaside reception. These two beauties opted to forgo the preparation photos to ensure all of their reception was captured by Whitney. It was such fun editing this party, and their enchanting movie star kisses throughout the day. Aren’t they stunning? Love Elizabeth’s dress!

When Matt and Angie met at the Glastonbury Festival it was love at first sight. Only one problem; Matt had just moved from the UK to sunny Australia. Six months later Angie followed her heart and joined Matt down under. When they decided to get married, they found themselves in a bit of a pickle. They needed a spot somewhere in between the UK and Australia, so that family and friends, both old and new, would be able to join them on their big day.
The answer was Bali.
On the day the 38 guests joined Matt and Angie at Villa Pemutih in Bingin. Overlooking the Indian Ocean - and with monkeys in the trees - we all experienced a very special day. Angie wore a vintage 1950’s dress she found in London, the girls got their stunning purple dresses made after they arrived in Bali, and the boys looked equally dapper in grey and blue. Everything had a local touch, even the welcome drinks tasted of Bali with ginger and lemongrass keeping people cool in the tropic sun.
Both Matt and Angie are in to yoga, Angie even teaches classes in Sydney. The ceremony even started with all the guest doing a two minute “om” together with their eyes closed. It was also the first time I’ve seen a groom standing on his head in the bathroom while the guests were arriving outside, and it still made perfect sense.
In fact, most things made perfect sense, during the speeches groomsmen and bridesmaids shared photos and clips from both their lives on a huge screen. It was truly fantastic.
Come to think of it, everything was perfect.
Whew! Nina and Mark. Sadly, we never quite had the time for an engagement session, but I look forward to their friendship in the future. What lovely, in love people. It was one of those, where we just hit it off completely and found ourselves a few drinks in a few hours later than planned. And that was just the first meeting - they hadn’t even hired me yet! They are the best kind of couple I ever get to work with, and I feel honored to have been a part of this emotional, beautiful day.
Did I mention Nina is gorgeous!!?
Here is the most awesome wedding of Brett and Bowen that, we, Erin Hearts Court, just photographed. This would be my first, “multi” wedding. I worked on the invitations, bouquets and bouts, photography, and also some fun suggestions here and there. We have all become great friends -which makes all of it even more fun!! They actually thanked us in their speech at the wedding! We felt absolutely honored. ![]()
The wedding took place at the campus of Pomona College, where they met and fell and love. Even though it rained and the plan “B” indoor option had to take place everything was still so wonderful, and it made for some wonderful soft lighting and gorgeous clouds for the outside portraits and the walk to the ceremony. Not to mention the party was still amazingly fun. When we were done shooting we stayed and danced to a few tunes!
Here are my favs from the day:

We’ve been so swamped with work as the busy summer wedding season kicks into full swing. That means our blogging is a little neglected right now. But we’ve got some fun shoots lined up for you all. ![]()
Steve and Alice were gracious enough to host us at their place in Boston for their engagement shoot. We got an up and close personal view into their lives. Steve is doing his residency as a doctor while Alice gets to play scientist all day at work. I think they enjoyed their time off from their intense work life to go out and play with us.

Lisa and Carson met on the left coast in San Francisco. Both of their families have roots in Cape Cod, and it is here where they chose to say their I Dos. Despite Carson having ruptured his Achilles tendon just a few weeks before the wedding playing soccer, their big day went off without a hitch. Lisa, a gal after my own heart, did a fantastic job putting together a beautiful event for us to photograph. From the location (a ginormous mansion on the water), the bridal party (again, ginormous, and draped in the most stunning pinks, blues and greens), and thoughtful details (cocktail umbrella drink escort cards, lawn games and a raw bar during cocktail hour, a contra dance caller with a Bluegrass band at the reception…). Here, take a peek for yourself at these stunning details:
Lisa strung together 400 pennant flags on rope around the property for a nautical theme.

First off, Darlene + Jerrold were such a sweet couple to work with for their engagement session, and after getting to know them, it made their wedding day feel like a breeze! They were married on May 23rd in Laguna Niguel and had a beautiful reception that followed at The Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach.
While Justin made his way to the Hyatt Regency, I met up with Darlene at her parents’ house for some prep shots. The first two things I got to capture were her amazing Christian Louboutin shoes, with the signature red sole, and an even more amazing Monique Lhuillier wedding dress!

My current obsession is photography. I just recently fell in love with my Nikon D70. I’ve had it for more than four years, but never really understood the technical aspects of my camera. I finally decided it’s time to learn, and my photos are improving immensely!
I’m so inspired by the work of other photographers. And one of them is Zena Holloway. Her work is so dreamy! Interestingly, Zena started out as a scuba diver before she made a career out of underwater photography. I am so captivated by these ethereal underwater scenes . Wouldn’t it be incredible to do a wedding shoot like this?
