A couple weeks ago, we made this wonderful bed of flowers for our bride, Lindsey. On top of this 6 ft x 2 ft bed of flowers, roughly 120 place cards were lined perfectly.

Here's my ingredient list for this bed of flowers:

  • 750 white standard carnations
  • 750 toothpicks
  • 2 4 inch by 24 inch by 36 inch styrofoam boards
  • 3 straight picks (wired removed)

Hope this may inspire you! Enjoy!

Laura Hooper, Northridge, CA Vendor: Calligraphy Website: Laura Hooper Calligraphy About Me: I've been practicing the art of calligraphy since the age of 12 and nothing gives me more pleasure than waking up each morning knowing I get to do what I do each day. I love having the ability to infuse my own personal style into each of my bride's special day. When I'm not working, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading and painting; but most of the time I don't consider calligraphy to be work at all!
About Laura @ Laura Hooper Calligraphy

Our compass placecards were recently featured in a Brides.com story on summer/beach/nautical-themed weddings. The compasses actually work, so they function as a favor, not just a placecard and also are available in larger sizes that you can use for table numbers (compasses shown here are 1.7″ in diameter). We had matching menu cards used with these compasses as well.

Winter Decor

January 13th, 2009 @ 3:22 pm by Nancy @ Nancy Liu Chin Designs

For a perfect winter wedding, it’s not only quite appropriate to add an outdoor element to an overall decor, but also deliriously affordable.  Elements like pine cones evoke the spirit of a cold winter forest without being too woodsy for such a formal affair.  It stands alone as a serene reminder of nature’s treasures.

Placed in centerpieces or in this case on a fold crisp cream napkin, the pine cone becomes this icon.  I especially like mini pinecones dusted with a bit of faux snow or painted in metallic gold hues.

Enjoy!
