Wendy + Sunup were married on October 3rd. While Justin was unavailable that day, I brought out the lovely and very talented Denise Bovee to second shoot with me. Wendy + Sunup, or should I say “Wenup” (what is this? scroll down and you’ll see) were super sweet and beyond happy on this big day. You can see their happiness is very obvious and very apparent in their images!

Mainers Jennifer and Steve opted to forgo traditional wedding plans and eloped on the beach instead in St. John. And they brought us along!
Jennifer works at the Pottery Barn where I spent my first winter in Maine, helping furnish my house and meet some new people. The employees have remained friends of mine ever since, and when they heard Jennifer talking about the possibility of a St John ceremony, they directed her my way. Initially, she and her now-hubby Steve hired us to photograph their upcoming New Year’s Eve party to celebrate their nuptials with family and friends here in Portland. But over a pint and conversation at Gritty’s Pub about our own recent St. John wedding, it was decided we would go along and document the adventure for them in November, too.
How they met, in Jenn’s words:
Our shared passion for University of Maine hockey brought Steve and I together. We first met four years when we were both season ticket holders and had seats in neighboring sections. I would often catch Steve stealing glances and flashing me that big beautiful smile. We never actually spoke until the end of the season, when we found ourselves sitting in the same row at the hockey championship in Boston. It was just a brief hello and an exchange of names but that was all and the season ended. When the new season began seven months later, I looked for Steve at every game but he no longer had those assigned seats and I never saw him once that year. That is, until I found myself at the same hockey tournament in Boston and as I walked into the pre-game pep rally, he was the first person I saw. This time we exchanged phone numbers, had our first date the following day and the rest is history

What a treat! Last week I received a disc of images from super talented Jeff of Jeffrey Neal Photography. I promised more details from this Casa Romantica wedding, so here you go!
Barbara’s bouquet- sexy, sexy!
So much love and joy makes me feel like my job is so easy that I feel like I’m cheating. Namrata and Pavan’s day was so magical and beautiful, and so appropriately on Halloween, that the pictures pretty much took themselves. And how cool is it that they shut down a block of 12th Street in downtown Philly so the Barat processional could make it’s way down Market Street! So cool! Namrata and Pavan are beautiful and gorgeous. Sometimes I think, when my clients approach me and declare that they are not photogenic, it’s just that they’ve never really really been photographed. People who experience joy and love are always beautiful. It’s not cliche, it’s true!

Page and Kevin’s wedding at the Foreign Cinema in San Francisco was a wedding that we’d love to shoot twice. It’s one of those weddings that was not overly produced, but had all the right touches that spoke volumes of their style. I think it was the first time that we saw a wedding guest teleconference into the reception, because she just had a baby hours before. I guess that’s a good enough excuse to miss your friend’s wedding. We had a hard time editing down this set, because there were so many awesome images. This venue and all the guests made us into happy photographers for the day.

Happy tuesday, everyone! Today I’m delighted to share with you the lovely wedding of Jeannine (aka Jella) & Matt.
This wedding is extra special for many reasons… here are my top 3:
1) Jella and I are kindred spirits and share a fierce love for Hello Kitty and Tarina Tarantino.
2) Jella & Matt may be two of the biggest lakers fans ever (another shared love!). You’ll see their adoration of the team’s purple, gold & white throughout their wedding.
3) This was the 2nd wedding that Anna flawlessly executed without me!
I was still involved throughout the planning process for this charming Santa Barbara wedding and Anna kept me in the loop throughout the wedding day via pics and texts sent from her blackberry.
Many thanks to the fun, sweet and truly talented Sarah K. Chen who captured these beautiful images!

Meet Megan and Peter. They both work in the movie biz in Hollywood, she as a creative director and he as a screenwriter. They met years ago through a mutual friend and decided to bring their family friends to the sleepy surf town of Sayulita, just north of Puerto Vallarta where they took their first vacation as a couple to make their union official. And they brought us, too!! They were originally planning a May wedding, but postponed until October because of the swine flu outbreak in the spring.

I have been wanting to post about this wedding for such a long time now, but had to wait until the fabulous spread came out in Utterly Engaged which is an amazing wedding resource for any bride or vendor. I was so happy to be featured in the online magazine and am glad I can share it with you now! This wedding had such an fabulous team behind it because Aaron & Barbara hand picked their wedding industry favorites, and since Aaron is a fabulous wedding photographer, they knew exactly who they wanted working on their wedding!
This was the first time I had the pleasure of working with Christina from Simply Modern Weddings and I was blown away with her attention to detail and overall design concept. She is not only talented, but one of the sweetest people ever! I was also lucky enough to have Gabriel Ryan Photography documenting the beautiful day. I love Gabriel & Carlie so much and am always overjoyed when I find out they are going to be shooting my desserts. Weddingbee PRO Kristin from The Treasured Petal matched the floral design perfectly with the Spanish Flamenco theme…love her! Those are just a few of the talented vendors at the wedding…definitely check out the end of the post to get the rest of the scoop! So without further ado here are the gorgeous photos!!!

The wedding took place at Casa Romantica, which is located in San Clemente, CA.
The last wedding we posted I had to shoot without Justin, now here’s one that Justin had to shoot without me. This is a VERY rare occasion, as we try our best to be available together because that is how we like it best, but given the unusual circumstances, Justin did an amazing job and he had Jason Roger as a sidekick to help him out.

Last year I worked with a beautiful Swiss woman named Floriane who married her dashing husband Lionel last March. Check out my original post about Floriane’s flowers. Her wedding was gorgeous and she has been gracious enough to answer some questions about the planning process! Photos by Luca Etter.
