Jeff + Jane were married on August 29th and had a sweet reception at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine. We really like the open feel of this venue, very down-to-earth. You may recall Jeff + Jane’s faces from their engagement session we posted back in April. Two things that I thought were sweet touches to the overall look to Jeff + Jane on their wedding day were: 1. Jane’s simple, yet classic hair-do with make-up (compliments of Nicole DeAnne) & 2. Jeff’s classic black suit with bow-tie.
It wasn’t until the day before their wedding that I finally met Betty and Kent. Betty has a smile that could light up a major metropolitan area, and Kent is the kind of man who reminds the world that chivalry is not dead. I so enjoyed my time with these two amazing people, their amazing friends and families. Betty is an interior designer, and in the short time I had the pleasure of being around her, I noticed how naturally it comes to her to arrange everything in a room in such a way as to make it look perfect, simple and elegant. And for her, it’s effortless. That’s how I would describe this gorgeous, detailed wedding.
I’ve also never been to a wedding where there was a dog who was like a child. I have rarely seen this kind of love and devotion between two different species. There is some kind of supernatural bond between them, and Kea was in Betty’s lap all night – it was so beautiful! I am so happy when I meet animals who have such wonderful and fabulous lives for the owners that love them so much!
Here is a list of the amazing crew that put this amazing wedding together!!:
Coordinator: Christina from Pacific Aisles
Lighting: Hawaii Event Lighting
Food (it was amazing!): Paradise Gourmet Catering
Venue: Puakea Ranch (this place is UH-MAZING! It usually serves as a Bed and Breakfast, and instead of a room, you can rent a whole house on the ranch!!)
Cake: Short-n-Sweet Bakery and Cafe
But wait till you see Betty and Kent’s day after session! Yummy!

I had the pleasure of shooting Ju Hui and Alvin’s fun engagement shoot in San Francisco earlier this year and I’m excited to post this wedding shoot of theirs. It was shot by our awesome team members, Aubrey and Blake, at the Palos Verdes Country Club down in LA.

Hopefully you know by now that I believe that it’s the details that are most important! No matter what event you are trying to put on and no matter what budget you have, you can definitely make your event unforgettable if you spend time on the details. This wedding is a perfect example of that! The fabulous Jesi Haack was at it again and outdid herself with creative touches throughout the event that pulled through the passion and personality of her clients. The main color scheme for their wedding was black, white, and apple green and we definitely had a lot of fun with it! The fabulous venue was the Red Horse Barn and the wonderful rentals were from Classic Party Rentals! Thanks to Matthew Morgan we have gorgeous images of the special day! I think he captured the couple, Ryan & Danielle, perfectly! Of course I had to throw in some of my photos as well since I am obsessed with my camera!

Well I am sure by now you have seen Grace’s (as in design*sponge) wedding. She has been posting about it all week and it was also featured in the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. If not, she got hitched in Savannah Georgia and the reception took place at a 1842 mansion. Swoon! But I could not help but post a few of my favorite details. There are some great DIY ideas as well as just good old fashioned inspiration from this fabulous event.

You may or may not remember our Boston engagement photography with Alice and Steve a while back, but if you know them then you know how fun and laid back these two are. It’s difficult to not make Alice laugh; she’s got a contagious personality that is super friendly. I knew I wanted to shoot their wedding at the Triton Museum of Art when we first talked on the phone. We hope to visit them again out in Boston when we go out for another destination wedding or engagement shoot!
When I first met with the bride and her mother about 6 months ago for a consultation, I automatically knew that I really wanted to book this wedding! They were fun, creative, and full of excitement for their big day. And being from Texas and having a wedding here in California, they had done their homework and found Courtney Toney, from Joyful Weddings & Events, to help plan for their wedding. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a fabulous planner, whether for the whole wedding process or at least just for the day of… they can make your wedding 10 times more enjoyable, creative, and memorable. Courtney recommend Carissa, from JL Designs to our clients too and they fell in love (like they always do!). So now I was really wanting the job and luckily they wanted me too! This was such a fun wedding to plan for and was full of pops of color, fresh flowers, and cute details. When I got to the venue I was blown away with the set-up that Courtney & Carissa had pulled off… it was just perfect! Here are some fabulous photos from Melissa Kelsey Photography of the day… enjoy!

Sydney and Jeremy are really special people. Not only did they successfully convince me (granted, it didn’t take much, but still!) to move to San Francisco eventually, but shooting their wedding was an experience I will always be thankful for. It’s rare that you find a community of people who so consistently and genuinely express unconditional love for each other. Everyone there was so supportive, so loving, so expressive of that love, that I had a really hard time choosing even these photos for this blog post. And knowing how special Sydney is, and how special Jeremy is, it comes as no surprise.
The wedding took place at Point O’Pines, a girls camp near Brant Lake in the Adirondack mountains. Did I mention I love shooting in the woods? It inspires me so. One of the coolest things about this wedding was that they rented out the whole camp, and Sydney had a slumber party with her girls the night before in their cabin. How cool is that! Almost every guest stayed the weekend at the camp, and by the time I got there, it really had that lovely bonded camp feeling. As a person who went to summer camp when I was a kid, and as an adult a little bit, too, it reminded me of the warmth of getting to know people away from life. What a great way to get your guests to know each other a little bit better! When I got there, people were canoeing, there was a lap pool structure in the lake, people were going hiking, having bon fires, and a generally awesome relaxing time. And! On the night of the wedding there was no curfew, since everyone was staying there, they could all party all night long with no worries about overstaying welcomes or driving home inebriated! This wedding was awesome!!
Wedding #2, that is also a FAVE wedding of the year, features soft pinks, creams, and white whites. Details including this lovely invitation printed on a handkerchief and mailboxes are just a few that the bride, Lindsey incorporated in her San Francisco Wedding.
