Leigh Miller, Coronado, CA Vendor: Photographer Website: Leigh Miller Photography About Me: People often ask me how I got my start in wedding photography. The truth is i fell into it. Almost by accident. But after my first wedding I was sold. I moved full force ahead. And within a year I went full-time leaving behind my life as a therapist and social worker. And the rest, as they say, is history. In November I celebrated my 3rd year of being a full-time photographer! Today, I feel so blessed to get to do something I love and to work with amazing couples all over the country and world! I have traveled to the Bahamas, Jamaica, all over Mexico and all the way to England to shoot weddings. I live in southern California with my husband, two sons, two really loud birds and a short, fat yellow lab named Mrs. Jones. All, at various times, make an appearance on my blog.
About leighmiller

As promised, I'm getting caught up on the blog and some fabulous weddings that took place at the end of last year. I think this actually works out very well as I don't have a wedding until March and it's nice to sprinkle these in between all the recent enagement sessions. Melysa and Michael are another one of my great San Francisco couples who were referred to me by the awesome Morgan and Scott. Their wedding was at the beautiful Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. Wendy Wuitschick of Sorelle Weddings and Events was the event planner and everything was lovely and elegant in deep reds. Loved it! And there always seems to be something so lively and real about the Jewish weddings I photograph. So much joy. I love all the tradition but yet I'm not really a traditional person. And the dancing is always one of my favorite parts of the wedding. Enjoy!

Mindy & Tim

January 28th, 2009 @ 3:00 pm by Leigh @ Leigh Miller Photographer

are helping me get over my fear of cats! Yes it's probably a little known fact, but I have cat issues. After this session I'm feeling much less terrified of the fanged creatures. ;) But seriously, I had a blast spending time with Mindy and Tim during their engagement session. They were a referral from another great couple, Morgan & Scott, so I knew they were going to be fun and creative. I love the way these two are together! For the session we started at their apt in LA. Just hanging around the house, playing with some cats, and painting some toenails. I loved just capturing them on a lazy morning. Then we headed out to the theatre where Tim proposed to Mindy. Hold on to your hats because this is an amazing proposal story!

Tim surprised Mindy by renting a theatre, having his and her family there, playing a movie of the two of them through the years, then ending by dropping on one knee and popping the question! WOW! So romantic. So the theatre shots are THE theatre where he popped the question. And lastly we wrapped it up with a few shots around their neighborhood. I love it when we can shoot engagement sessions in locations that are so special to the couple. So here are a few pics from the shoot, hope you enjoy. Stayed tuned in a few months for some photos of their amazing wedding that is going to take place at The Social in LA. Can't wait!

Angel Swanson, Los Angeles Vendor: Wedding Planner Website: Events of Love and Splendor About Me: I plan, design, coordinate weddings in southern California for living. It's a dream job and I adore every aspect of it! I find inspiration everyday in nature, art, history, and fashion, and bring my whimsical personal aesthetic to each event I take on. I love to travel and am always planning my next vacation. Cooking is also a passion -- in another life I would be a Food Network star.
About angelswanson

It all begain at (the lovely) Literati Cafe… Stef had emailed me a month out from her wedding and was looking for some last-minute inspiration and guidance. When I found out that both the bride and groom were Cal grads, we had instant clickage! Most importantly, I was quickly enamored with Stef's vision for the day and was delighted at the thought of being able to contribute to the design of the wedding this late in the game. Together, we adopted a design direction for the day. The feel would be classic and elegant, suggesting a Victorian garden. Florals would be natural and loosely gathered, rich with texture. And the colors would range from cream to lavender to deep purples, accented by cool silver. We enlisted my favorite floral visionary, Kristin of The Treasured Petal, to help bring our charming vision to life. The results were magical!

Although my time was brief with these two, SO much was achieved together. Stef and I also became quick friends and I look forward to keeping in touch with this darling pair!

I'm excited to walk you through the day with beautiful photos courtesy of Christine Marie Photography. Christine perfectly captured the elegance and romance of the day in each and every frame…

How perfect is this vintage-feeling portrait of the bride??
