We’re thrilled to unveil the latest in our “Visit…” destination wedding invitation and save the date series, by Lab Partners…Chicago!

A happy couple recently asked us to create the save the date for their Miami, Florida wedding. They wanted to share the places close to their hearts with their future wedding guests. You can see that they point out where they met (Islamorada) and also where they each grew up. It’s a great way to let your guests know why the area is special to you!
Representing Florida, this whimsical map is filled with manatees, Florida Gators, fish, sailboats, shopping and golf. It also includes architectural hotspots Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and the Freedom Tower. We even included a seashell as the compass!

So, here’s more stationery — I didn’t realize how much we did ourselves until now! Crazy! The save-the-date project was a lot of fun. A great idea thanks to my husband. We printed the information on beige heavy stock paper, cut the shape of a barn, cut a little window and door, folded it and placed it into a brown envelope along with a map of the area where everyone was staying.
The wedding program had a gold skeleton key stamp. This is very meaningful to me, not because we have over 100 old keys hanging on one of our living room walls, but because even before meeting Chris’ mother, she sent back a key with him to add to my collection. It came in a little pouch with a note that said, “this may be the key to my son’s heart” -isn’t that so sweet? He proposed two weeks later. ![]()
We printed a short story about the horseshoes we gave to all our guests. We put them in a burlap sack stamped with “Virginia is for Lovers” with our names and date. Did I mention we got married in a stable? So the horseshoes, which are symbolic for good luck, were also totally appropriate for the occasion.
Have a lovely day!
xoxo

Here is a letterpress wedding invitation we just did. It was designed custom, using the Southern Splendor collection as the inspiration. Hand letterpress printed in champagne and moss color inks. The champagne ink is a huge trend right now. It has the tiniest hint of shimmer which works great for weddings, and is a great accent color for most color palettes.
Continuing on our theme of save the dates this week is this beautiful letterpress map, printed double-sided and with a matching accommodations card. Done in the Paris design of our Lucky Orchid Invitation Line, the color was specifically mixed to match the pool-colored envelopes.
The Grand Poobah of our save the date line is the tri-fold. With six panels available, you can include information regarding every aspect of your wedding weekend. I usually like to incorporate a cover, map and formal save the date on the front, but on this save the date in particular we’ve got information provided on the reverse side as well. It includes an itinerary, accommodations and travel information.

One of our more intricate save the date wedding maps is the bi-fold. This folded card is designed either horizontally or vertically depending on your location. It offers four panels for writing. This one of Jamaica includes the cover page, the map, the formal save the date, and hotel and travel information on the reverse. It is held together in the envelope by a double-faced satin ribbon in a pleasant mango color. It also incorporates a fun pineapple envelope liner. Read more…
This unique map is a one-sided save the date, complete with a matching outer envelope and a custom-designed envelope liner. It incorporates details of the wedding weekend, including fireworks from a pirate ship out in the bay, golf and the boardwalk. Read more…
