Venezuela is beautiful, and so are Jennifer and Jay. The sister of the owner of the Inn we stayed at, Posada del Encanto (The Enchanted Inn), was amazing, and took us for an amazing ride through the high mountains, where the woods became the jungle, and the jungle became something like what I imagine the Amazon to be, though we were about 12 hours north of the Amazon. It was such a cool feeling to be in a place where native monkeys lived. We didn’t see any of them there, but the jungles there were really wild. And the fog rolled in like a flood as the sun fell away, occasionally poking through the thick tangles of ferns and fast moving low clouds. It was amazing. Amazing amazing. To have the opportunity to set their love against this ancient backdrop left me bewildered at what an amazing opportunity it had been to spend time with these wonderful people, in this wonderful and warm country where everybody seems to know everybody. More on that later.
I have big deep exhales. What a wonderful trip. And in so many ways I could barely hope to describe. I am so lucky, I pined to Husbone, on many occasions. Jennifer’s family was amazing. Jay’s parents were amazing. Jennifer and Jay were AMAZING!! There was so much amazing going on everywhere that I hurt my neck, craning my head around to take everything in. And so it was in Agua Viva, Venezuela, at the hacienda Agua Santa, that Jennifer and Jay proclaimed their love among family and friends, in Jennifer’s wonderful home country. Her mother made the gown from scratch and finished it that morning (amazing!!).
Por favor, perdone mi español. Pero quiero decir muchas gracias por la hospitalidad de sus familias. Sus familias es increíbles, y soy afortunado de haber sido parte de esta celebración increíble. Todos ustedes super super chevere!!
Just a little Spanish, and a little bit more every day. Thank you for such an amazing time. Tune in over the next few days, for a voyage into the Venezuelan wilderness with said people in love. There were jungles among the vastest landscapes I’ve ever even had notions of. Seriously, I couldn’t open my eyes wide enough. And maybe a little bit more on the Husbone and Poo experience, including a trip to Zoologico Bararida en Barquisimeto - with video, free wheeling giant iguanas, and our very first Husbone and Poo “engagement” mini-session via our lovely timer, and Jay!
