Mary Ana and Kevin were married at Villa Antonia on September 19, 2008. We posted the trailer recently, and now here is the highlights film!

The amazing flower arrangements were done by The Flower Studio. They crafted all the gorgeous pieces like the cross you see in the ceremony. The awesome lighting was done by ILIOS Lighting - they are the best in town! Bringing lighting into your venue will create a unique look for your wedding - this is something I wish more couples would do. The photography was done by Andy at Studio 563. Andy is always such a fun guy to work with, and his images are more then amazing! The whole event was put together by Keri Wootton at Leave The Details To Me, and wow what amazing job she did!

We came into the studio on Sunday, the day after Melinh and Cwell were married, and we sat down to watch their SDE again. Jess had come in for a couple hours that Sunday and it was her first chance to see their SDE. We are generally rather quiet when we share something like this, as we all get pulled into the story. At the end of the piece we looked up and Jess was completely silent, tears streaming down her face, as she started to laugh at just how much she was affected.

It makes me wonder how many others watch these pieces, knowing nothing of the couple, knowing very little about us as well, people whom we will probably never meet, and are completely moved by what they experience.

This week I am thrilled to feature Darrell Aubert of Aubert Films for a behind the scenes look into some this amazing filmmaker's wedding work.

I first saw this clip  a few weeks ago and immediately wanted to feature it on Weddingbee Pro.  I love this clip. Darrell captured many absolutely beautiful moments but the one that moved me the most was the letter exchange sequence about three minutes into the piece. Darrell really shows such a sensitivity to the subtle but powerful emotions of the day.

We usually try to shoot one wedding per weekend - being that we work with so few couples every year that usually works out pretty well. Sometimes though, we have two couples on the same weekend that are both incredibely enthusiastic and we need to find a way to make it work. That was the scenario here. We had Joyce + Raymond to shoot in LA on Saturday and Carol + Bryan to shoot in NY on Sunday. to make for more of an adventure, both couples had same day edits.

In most cases this would never work, as there just wouldn’t be enough time to pull it all together and cover things properly. What made this weekend different was that Joyce + Raymond’s day ended rather early and Carol + Bryan’s started rather late. To be extra careful, we also had Ray Roman (from Ray Roman films) fly in for Sunday for some extra backup.

For Joyce’s sde we were really inspired by the location, and they gave us a blank canvas on which we could create. We knew that something a little zany would be very fitting for them, and so after many sketches and chatting, the concept for their SDE was born.

Hi everyone! I’m officially married and back to my daily love affair with all things letterpress/paper and weddings. I am so thrilled to be back in the studio and back to blogging. We had an absolutely incredible wedding weekend and a fabulous honeymoon in Bar Harbor, Maine. I’ve been glowing with happiness ever since. Then, last Friday I was stunned into teary-eyed silence when I saw the video trailer the amazing team of Clark Walker Studio put together for us. I just had to share it with Weddingbee readers! Working with the amazingly talented Alisha Clark was nothing short of a spectacular experience. She and her husband, Luke Walker, are the owners of Lillie Studios based in the Capital Region of Upstate New York. As I work in the wedding industry myself, being a bride and having the opportunity to work with wedding professionals I admire (and supremely talented ones at that!) was a truly incredible experience. With that said, I’ll just let the video do the talking…

Seeing the San Jose Cathedral for the first time the day before the wedding, we knew right away that it definitely  would be a highlight in itself.  What we didn’t yet know was the fact that Angela and Joseph were going to see each other before the ceremony, and then walk to the church together. I especially love the flower girl’s miniature pink umbrella. She was just so happy to hold it.

And what a way to top of the night, and sde, with a very energetic Chinese dragons performance.

We came up with the concept for the opening the night before the SDE, but even as we started shooting the day of the wedding, we weren’t sure we would be able to pull it off.

Shannon + Jason’s wedding was held at Kairos on June 7, 2008. This wedding was shot entirely in vintage super 8mm film. Having your wedding shot in super 8 will give it a unique and nostalgic feel. You can check out their wedding trailer here, and the highlights below.

After watching this film a good thirty times each, we thought it would be a good time to add in some more details about Raj + Carolyn’s rather epic wedding.

I’ve admired the work of Naomi Raiselle for quite a while now.  Naomi's studio, Generations Cinemastories, produces documentary wedding films in the Boston area.

She has the amazing ability to capture the true spirit of the event and the true essence of the characters involved.  Their work is intimate, unpretentious, real and moving. I asked her to show us an example and tell us a little about the couple and the event.

Lindsey and Nate

Lindsey and Nate came to see us well over a year before their wedding. It was an immediate “click” with these two. They loved our work, and we loved them but they couldn't afford us.  Although we were willing to adjust our rate downward a bit (they were so lovely and SO in love!) there was still just too big of a gap between their budget and our rates.

Throughout the year we heard from Lindsey – and Lindsey heard from us. As we came up with a few new packages, I would contact Lindsey, and Lindsey would tell me that she and Nate were trying to save up.

Not surprisingly (since these things DO tend to work out!) the date remained unbooked, and just a month or so before the wedding, Lindsey's mom called to tell me that she and her husband had decided to give the couple our services as their wedding gift. We were thrilled, and needless to say, when I called Lindsey to tell her we were filming her wedding, she was over the top excited.
